Frequently asked questions
Which UK EV charger grants does the wizard cover?
Two live commercial schemes: the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) — up to £500/socket since 1 April 2026, capped at 75% of cost and 40 sockets per applicant, ending 31 March 2027 — and the 2026 Depot Charging Scheme — 70% of chargepoint and civil costs at fleet depots, up to £1 million per organisation. It also flags that the older EV Infrastructure Grant for Staff and Fleets closed to new applicants on 31 March 2026.
Is this an official eligibility check?
No. It is an indicative client-side tool based on the public scheme rules as of May 2026. Always confirm current eligibility on GOV.UK and with an OZEV-authorised installer before applying.
Who is eligible for the Workplace Charging Scheme?
UK-registered businesses, charities and public-sector bodies with dedicated off-street parking for staff or fleet (not public-access customer parking), where installation is carried out by an OZEV-authorised installer.
Who is eligible for the Depot Charging Scheme?
UK fleet operators installing chargepoints at commercial fleet depots for zero-emission vans, HGVs or coaches. It funds chargepoints plus civils on the customer side of the meter; it does not fund vehicles or DNO network reinforcement.
What happened to the EV Infrastructure Grant for Staff and Fleets?
It closed to new applications on 31 March 2026. The claim deadline for existing vouchers was 26 May 2026. For fleet sites, the Depot Charging Scheme is the 2026 replacement.
