1–40. The WCS grant caps at 40 sockets per applicant.
22 kW only delivers 22 kW if the supply is three-phase.
Beyond a handful of 7 kW sockets, a G99 application is usually needed.
Indicative only — not a quote.
Actual cost depends on a site survey: cable run length, surface reinstatement,
existing supply headroom, DNO connection offer and CPMS choice. Always obtain
itemised written quotes from OZEV-authorised installers before committing.

How much does it cost to install a commercial EV charger in the UK in 2026?
Installed, per socket: fast AC 7 kW around £1,200–£3,000; 22 kW AC around £1,800–£3,500; rapid DC 50 kW around £14,000–£35,000. Site-wide civils add £600–£9,000+ and a DNO grid upgrade can add anywhere from a few hundred pounds to £50,000+ at higher power. Figures are indicative UK 2026 ranges from public sources — confirm with itemised installer quotes.
Is the Workplace Charging Scheme grant £500 per socket?
Yes — from 1 April 2026 the OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme pays up to £500 per socket (was £350), capped at 75% of total project cost and a maximum of 40 sockets per applicant. The scheme is funded until 31 March 2027.
What is the Depot Charging Scheme worth?
For eligible fleet depots, the Depot Charging Scheme funds 70% of chargepoints and civil works (trenching, cabling, electrical upgrades) up to £1 million per organisation. Works must be completed by 31 March 2027.
Can public car parks claim the Workplace Charging Scheme?
No. WCS is for off-street parking for staff and fleet vehicles. Public-access retail, customer car parks and on-street bays are funded commercially or via separate local-authority schemes.
Why is the DNO grid upgrade cost so variable?
A 12-socket workplace on an existing three-phase supply often only needs a £400–£1,200 G99 notification. A 20-bay depot needing a 100 kVA upgrade is typically £15,000–£35,000. Multi-megawatt or HV-connected sites run into six and seven figures.
